Chocolate Wisdom

image.jpg Well it seems as if spring is finally here to stay. This is such a wonderful time of the year. Trees are budding, flowers are starting to bloom. Gardeners are readying the ground for their crops. It’s like a new beginning for everything and that includes us. The mornings arrive with bright sunshine heralding the start of a brand new day. The great thing about this is that we can have a brand new day every day. No matter how yesterday was, we get a chance to start over every day. The trouble is we tend to drag the troubles of yesterday into the new day. We need to remember that yesterday is gone never to be seen again. Today is a promise full of expectation and possibilities. Latch on to today and run with it. It does us no good to spend time lamenting what might have been. It’s hard for many of us to let that go. We feel the need to punish ourselves for the mistakes that we have made in the past. Everyone makes mistakes, even Donald Trump. The only people who are no longer making mistakes are in the cemetery. We are not there thus, we have a new chance every day to start again.  We are perfectly imperfect and possess everything we need for success. It was given to us at birth. We take the fact that we have a sound mind for granted. Well visit a mental ward and see what you have that many others would love to have. It is easy to make excuses. The only person you are fooling is yourself. When you keep saying I’ve got to get myself together for 20 years, trust me the only person who believes that is you. You are not unique. Life is rough for everyone. The only difference is in how we handle the challenge. Giving up is easy. There is plenty of free cheese in the mouse trap but the mouse there are not very happy. Finding success is a great feeling, but finding success when no one thought you would is sweeter still. Take a few minutes and figure out a plan. Now the plan will not likely go the way you think but we are adaptable. We can roll with the punches. When something doesn’t go the way you planned, regroup and improvise. That’s the beauty of the human mind, it’s adaptable. If you stay the course you will eventually get to the place you are going. If you sit and make excuses you will eventually get to the place where you are going also, but it won’t be where you want to go. You are the captain of your life. If you don’t take charge the ship won’t go anywhere. Don’t compare yourself to others. What glitters on the outside is not always gold on the inside. You are charting the path for the life God gave you. It is unique and special. No one else has that life. It is yours alone. Just remember “an original is always better than a copy”. You are an original handmade by God. Always remember that. Find a mantra that uplifts you and repeat it several times a day. Be your own cheerleader. If other folks don’t see the vision that’s fine, this is your journey. Just remember not everyone wants to see you succeed. Misery loves company. Sometimes you have to love people from a distance and that’s okay. There are plenty of people who want to drag you back to where you left. Don’t go willingly. Have success on your own terms, of course make sure it is real success. We are all born with potential. Successful people use it and unsuccessful people make excuses. Success is a ladder climbed rung by rung. Don’t make the mistake of staying on one rung to long because the next one is not exactly where you want it to be. Keep moving forward. Sometimes you have to take a detour. It doesn’t matter how fast you move, only that you do. You are not competing with anyone else. You are on your own journey. The journey that only you can fulfill. Break a leg.
